Utilizing Customer Feedbacks to Improve Business

In business training of Light-F, we have taught FHBWs that customer feedbacks are a "treasure" to be used to improve business. Instead of being a FHBWs-satisfied business, we aim to differentiate their business and increase the number of repeat customers by reflecting customer requests in their products and services.

Beenish, who is training participant in Baldia, learned to interview customers for understanding their needs during the business training. There are few beauty salons around her home and no vocational training schools in Baldia. Therefore, she decided to provide a little trivia on beauty cares when she provides beauty services. Previously, when providing beauty services, she did not talk to her clients or ask their opinions. However, through the business training, she came to realize that it was important to talk to customers and listen to their needs. She began to provide trivia of beauty knowledge because she realized their needs through conversations with customers. Through conversations with customers, she also found that customers wanted to know about organic products, handmade products, and nutritional knowledge that is good for their skin. We look forward to seeing the development of her beauty salon as she begins to listen to her customers.

Asiya Nazeer, another Baldia participant, runs a sewing class in her home. When she started the class a year ago, she had only a few students; now the number of students increased to 10 girls. Nazeer attributes this to her efforts to incorporate student feedbacks into her operation. Initially, sewing class were held at two different times (10:00-12:00 and 15:00-17:00). However, when Nazeer asked the students about their availability, she found that it was difficult for them to attend from 15:00-17:00 because it conflicted with their madrasa time, so she made the class flexible to accept students from 16:00-18:00 as well. This increased the number of students. The electricity and other operating costs of the class are covered by her husband's salary, and all sales from the monthly fees are saved for future expansion of her business.

Nazeer has also devised other ideas from students to sell small materials (acupuncture needles, yarn, etc.) in the classroom so that students who forgot to bring their own materials can purchase them on the spot. They no longer must go home or to the store to pick up forgotten items, allowing them to concentrate on their classes. Nazeer said she hopes to teach "sewing male dresses" soon, as there is a great need for students to learn this skill.
