To broaden the concept of women and occupation of FHBWs and their families.
To provide information on how to pursue those careers.
To integrate career planning into their life course planning.
Activities:
Introductory question: Ask participants what employment opportunities exist for women in their community.
Appropriate occupation for women: Ask participants what occupations they believe are suitable for women. The facilitator will ask as to the
reason for and rationale behind the situation. If a participant's response contains any social barriers, the facilitator emphasises those points. The facilitator provides a summary of social
barriers.
List of occupations: Display the occupations described on the panaflex (PPT). Request that participants choose two to which they wish to listen
in detail.
Case story: Read the narratives of the two occupations selected by the participants. Discuss potential difficulties and advantages of these
careers.
Linking up with life course planning: Ask participants to recall their life course planning and encourage them to make connections between life
